HER TABLE: Food & Wine Social Series

The Hellenic Heritage Foundation (HHF) proudly unveiled its newest initiative this fall, the HHF Women’s Empowerment Committee, a newly formed and dynamic group created to engage and inspire women while promoting Hellenic education, culture, and heritage across Canada.

And what better way to launch a movement than with an unforgettable celebration?

On Sunday, September 21, 2025, the Committee hosted its inaugural event, Her Table: Food & Wine Social Series, at the breathtaking Two Sisters Vineyards in Niagara-on-the-Lake; a day that perfectly blended elegance, energy, and empowerment.

This sold-out event brought together 53 remarkable women from across the region for an afternoon that celebrated connection, conversation, and culture under the warm Niagara sun.

Guests were treated to a curated wine tasting led by a professional sommelier, followed by a three-course gourmet lunch on the terrace overlooking the vineyards. From the round-trip transportation from Toronto to the lively “speed-dating” conversations and laughter echoing through the barrel room, the day felt like something truly special.

I felt so connected and inspired throughout the day,” shared one attendee. “I absolutely loved the speed dating and making connections with amazing women!”

Between sips and smiles, friendships formed, stories were shared, and a strong sense of sisterhood emerged, capturing exactly what the Women’s Empowerment Committee was created to foster.

Beyond the beautiful setting and meaningful connections, Her Table carried a deeper purpose. All proceeds from the event, $8,000 in net funds, were donated to the Greek Orthodox Family Services: Violence Against Women Program, a vital initiative offering counselling, crisis support, and advocacy for women and families in need.

Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with guests calling the day “inspiring,” “elegant,” and “the kind of event our community has been waiting for.” The welcoming atmosphere, outstanding hospitality, and genuine sense of connection left a lasting impression.

The Her Table series embodied HHF’s vision of uniting women through shared experiences that celebrate Hellenic identity while empowering one another personally and professionally.

As the Women’s Empowerment Committee looks ahead, the excitement is undeniable. This first event didn’t just launch a new HHF initiative; it sparked a movement that will continue to grow, connect, and inspire for years to come.
