The Hellenic Heritage Foundation is now accepting Nominations for two separate Recognition Awards to shine a light on exceptional leaders that are making significant contributions in our communities:
- HHF Lifetime Achievement Award, and
- HHF Outstanding Achievement under 40 Award.
These Awards will be presented to distinguished Canadians of Hellenic descent or Philhellenes that have demonstrated excellence in their career or field of endeavour while contributing to philanthropy or the betterment of our society.
The nominations will assist the selection committee in identifying and celebrating the achievements in our Hellenic-Canadian community. The Nomination period will be open for three months, from September 1st to November 30th, 2024.

The HHF launched the Recognition Awards in 2012, and has proudly honoured: Supreme Court Justice Andromache Karakatsanis; physician-scientist Dr. Dimitrios Oreopoulos; philanthropist and Blackberry founder Mike Lazaridis; composer Christos Hatzis; opera diva Teresa Stratas; inventor-entrepreneur Dr. Savvas Chamberlain; leader in health and wellness Toula Reppas; particle physicist Dr. Asimina Arvanitaki; scientist and humanitarian Dr. Helen Dimaras; film industry leader Nick Mirkopoulos; pediatric allergist and community educator Dr. Fotini Kavadas; philanthropist and community leader John Dagonas; aerospace industry leader Dr. John Maris; journalist Vassy Kapelos; family physician and community youth leader Dr. Frank Karantonis; engineering industry leader Catherine Karakatsanis; film industry leader and philanthropist, Steve Mirkopoulos; orthodontist Dr. Christos Papadopoulos; artificial intelligence and computer science pioneer Dr. John Mylopoulos; and philanthropist and community leader, John Fanaras.
The Awards will be presented at the 2025 HHF Annual Gala in Toronto.
