On Thursday, November 17th, 2016, the Hellenic Heritage Foundation was honoured to recognize four outstanding individuals in our community:
Dr. Savvas Chamberlain, Lifetime Achievement. Dr. Chamberlain is a philanthropist and current Chairman and CEO of EXEL Research Inc. He was a distinguished Professor of Engineering and a prominent scientist, inventor and entrepreneur who pioneered new theories and devises and founded DALSA Corporation. He is a member of the Order of Canada.
Teresa Stratas, Lifetime Achievement. Ms. Stratas is a legendary and internationally acclaimed opera singer. Over the course of her stellar 36-year career with the Metropolitan Opera, she performed in 385 operas and in 41 different roles. She is a member of the Order of Canada.
Toula Reppas, Excellence in Philanthropy and Community Involvement. Ms. Reppas is the founder and CEO of Achieva Health. She is an advocate and champion of Greek youth education and wellness for seniors. She has contributed immensely to the success of the Greek Orthodox School and to numerous other organizations.
Dr. Asimina Arvanitaki, Outstanding Achievement under 40. Dr. Arvanitaki is one of the world’s leading young particle physicists. She is the recipient of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Aristarchus Chair in Theoretical Physics at Perimeter Institute. She is a brilliant young scientist and an inspiration to others pursuing science and knowledge about our universe.
