Posted on April 19, 2016,2:00 am
In celebration of the Hellenic Heritage Foundation’s remarkable achievements and 20th anniversary, the Foundation is pleased to shine a light on distinguished Canadians of Greek descent or Philhellenes who have made an outstanding contribution to Canadian society and to our Greek-Canadian community.
The Hellenic Heritage Foundation (HHF) is now accepting nominations for three Awards: the Lifetime Achievement Award, Outstanding Achievement under 40 Years of Age, and Excellence in Philanthropy and Community Involvement. The nominations will assist the HHF in identifying and celebrating the achievements in our Hellenic-Canadian community. Confidential nominations can be submitted online from now until June 30, 2016 on our designated website for the Awards. Nomination forms can also be submitted by email or post. For more information on the Awards, the criteria for nomination and past recipients, log onto: www.hhf.ca/award.
The HHF launched the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012, and since its inception, proudly honoured Supreme Court Justice Andromache Karakatsanis and the late Dr. Dimitrios Oreopoulos in 2012, philanthropist and Blackberry founder Mike Lazaridis in 2013, and composer Christos Hatzis in 2014. As part of the 20th anniversary celebrations this year, the HHF is shining a wider spotlight on the achievements in our community.
The Awards will be presented on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at a special Recognition Awards Dinner at the Palais Royale in Toronto.
